SMART City Boot Camp Program

Today, every government and larger cities has the possibility to rethink their operating model, their value delivery and service concepts as well as their cost model.

Each city is different, and therefore each city face very different challenges and opportunities. With the Internet of Things in mind, the industrial revolution and the changing consumer and general citizen behaviour, cities struggle with many urban challenges. From the environment, good governance, mobility, prosperity, growing populations (and their aging populations), technology adaption, etc.

The possibilities are endless and the value potential is equally high. The question is; What, Why, Where and How can a city innovate, upgrade and transform itself?

Building the right roadmap, which includes a SMART City vision, strategy, identification of needed capabilities and services, and potential changes to the ways of working, is the first critical step in such an ambitious project.

You can download our 1-page PDF brochure of the program here.

  • SMART Infrastructure: It is a city that is designed around concepts such as connectivity and integrated services, using infrastructure facilities such as smart city lights and smart parking lots and services.
  • SMART Government: It is a city whose public services have entered the digital era with efficient online services, wifi and the use of digital data produced in the city.
  • SMART Society: It is a city which fosters the development of its citizens by levelling out inequalities and encouraging them to acquire skills.
  • SMART Education: It is a city which prices itself of creating stable, supportive and assertive educational learning environments with a deeply interated focus on research.

Learn, Apply & Impact

The SMART City Boot Camp Program provides executives and their team with a practical hands-on workshop setting to explore the latest thinking, standards and patterns of SMART City leaders and immediately applies this new skills to their own SMART City project. We also build cross-functional skills to solve complex problems, create opportunities, and make a powerful impact consistently by responding to evolving leadership challenges and exposing them to the latest groundbreaking ideas and techniques.

We offer a unique blend of classroom training, access to relevant academic research and standards, and we top it off with Individual Performance Coaching that ensures competencies and measurable impact go beyond the classroom. The workshop introduces a comprehensive guide through the different steps of the strategic processes – from ideation to implementation.

  • Learn what other SMART Cities have done.
  • Find out what you can do.
  • Define your SMART City vision and strategy
  • Expand your ability to choose with what to start.
  • Identify SMART City transformation and innovation potential and determine corrective steps.
  • Develop your own SMART City roadmap/transformation plan.

All participants will be actively engaged with applying repeatable standards, i.e.:

  1. SMART City Best Practices (what works);
  2. SMART City Leading Practices (patterns of outperformers).

Important to note is that the SMART City Boot Camp Program requires input from interested parties as the programs are tailed to each individual, team or organization and is customized with planned dates and location.
